Ion chemistry in space

Open Working Group Meeting of the EU COST Action
"The Chemical Cosmos: Understanding Chemistry in Astronomical Environments"
Prague, Czech Republic 17-19 May 2011

Check-in: The check-in desk for the meeting will be open on Monday May 16th from 14:00 to 20:00 in the lobby of Hotel Diplomat. Check-in is also possible from 08:30 to 09:00 on Tuesday May 17th at the meeting venue. There also payment should be made for the registration fee (EUR 150,-) .

The second meeting of Working group 1 “Radical-and ion-induced reactions” of the COST Action ”The Chemical Cosmos: Understanding Chemistry in Astronomical Environments” will take place at Profesni Dum in Prague, Czech Republic from May 17 to May 19, 2011. The meeting will start on Tuesday, May 17 in the morning and finish on Thursday May 19 in the evening with the conference banquet. Thus, May 16th and May 20th are travel days. Important: The meeting is also open to interested scientists and students outside the working group and the COST Action.

This year's meeting is devoted to the subject "Ion Chemistry in space". The HERSCHEL Space telescope has delivered a cornocopia of data on ions in space including a handful of new detections. Aim of this event is to update experimentalists and theoreticians about these new findings and inform astronomers about the recent developments in theoretical and experimental research in the area of ion chemistry.

The deadline for the registration has passed, but there is a very limited number of places at the conference hotel and Hotel Kampa(see the accommodation page for infos) available. These will be given to peaople who still want to register (see the registration page for details) on a first-come first served basis.
