The conference hotel is Hotel Diplomat. The hotel was chosen due to its direct bus connection with the airport, facilities and closeness to the venue (2 stations by underground and an 8 min walk). We have reserved a copious number of rooms for the conference guests. However, some conference guests (especially those with accompanying persons) might fancy a more special place closer to the main sights. Therefore we have reserved a limited number of rooms at some hotels in the Lesser Quarter. The hotels are presented below. However, the capacities of the smaller , more special hotels are low, so if you want to stay a one of those, it is highly recommended that you book early.
NOTE: The deadline for the registration has passed, but there is a very limited number of places at the conference hotel and Hotel Kampa available. These will be given to people who still want to register (see the registration page for details) on a first-come first served basis.

Please be also reminded that due to financial constraints we cannot refund COST Working Group and Management Committee members for accommodation and travel. Working group members will be, however, offered free meals (including the conference banquet).

The hotel is situated at Evropska, with direct bus connections (bus 119, 24 minutes) to the Ruzyne airport. The conference venue is only 2 Metro stations and an 8 minutes walk from the hotel. Rooms are equipped with air conditioning, satellite TV with a large flat screen (including three HBO channels for free), DVD player, minibar, hairdryer, direct-dial telephone with voicemail and high-speed internet access. There is also a garage at the hotel.

Hotel Archibald (Near Charles Bridge)
Hotel Archibald is a nice cosy hotel on the Kampa Island very close to the Charles Bridge mid in the Bohemian (sorry about the pun) quarters of Prague. Very close to the confeence venue (5 min walk)History of House Na Kampě 15 starts at 16th. century. Hotel was completely renovated after the August floods in 2002 and was reopenned in May 2003. Hotel Archibald At the Charles Bridge offers 16 double rooms , 6 DeLuxe rooms and 4 suites. Rooms have a view on the Kampa square or on the Vltava river. Room equipment includes minibar, safe box, SAT-TV, phone, Free Wifi, bath or shower, toilet, hair dryer. Very nice vaulted pub in the cellar.Ideal for people wanting a stay in the centre of Prague with lots of places to go to. A bit less suited for people wanting complete silence.....

Hotel in a quiet, but central area in Prague near the Kampa Island. Around 10 min walk from the conference venue. Ideal for people seeking silence, less apt for party animals. We describe here the access to the conference hotel (Hotel Diplomat, Evropska 16, 16041 Prague, Czech Republic) and the access to the conference from the hotel by public transport. Going to the venue by car is discouraged due to the lack of parking places in the Lesser Quarter. The venue is only 2 stations by underground For access to the other hotels we recommend please check the relevant links to the hotels at the Accommodation page.
Warning: Going by taxi is discouraged, Prage taxi drivers have not undeservedly earned a reputation for cheating tourists and asking for grossly excesive fares. If you feel you need a taxi from the airport then go to the tourist information at the airport and ask for help. Take the train to Prague Main station (Praha Hlavní Nádraží). For timetables check the site of Czech railways (České dráhy) or the multilingual website of the German Railways. Arriving at the main station, go to the underground "Metro" station. Take the red line into direction "Háje" to "Muzeum" (one stop). Change then to the gren line to go to "Dejvická" (end station). From there leave the station in the driving direction of the train and keep left. You will emerge on Evropská, the Hotel Diplomat is 100m further to the left. If for some reason you have to arrive at Prague Holesovice station, travel is not more complicated. go to the underground "Metro" station. Take the red line into direction "Háje" to "Muzeum" (one stop). Change then to the gren line to go to "Dejvická" (end station). From there leave the station in the driving direction of the train and keep left. You will emerge on Evropská, the Hotel Diplomat is 100m further to the left.
From Road 1 – Brno, Vienna, Budapest, České Budejovice
Follow the motorway towards the city center ("Centrum"). Once there, follow the signposts for "Karlovy Vary", driving through the streets "Veletržní"and "Milady Horákové". Turn right to the street "Svatovítská"and drive on until you reach the circle square ("Vítezné námestí") at its end. Take the exit signposted "the Airport"( to thev left). Diplomat Hotel Prague is situated approximately 100 m past the square on the left-hand side.
From D5 Germany via Plzen:
At the end of the motorway follow the direction towards the city center ("Centrum") and "Motol". Approx. 1 km after the "Motol"hospital (a big blue building on your right) turn right at the large junction ("Vypich") on the top of the hill to the street "Patockova". Follow the road for about 5 km and then turn left to the street "Svatovítská". Drive ahead until you reach the circle square ("Vítezné námestí") at its end. Take the exit signposted "the Airport". Diplomat Hotel Prague is situated approximately 100 m past the square on the left-hand side.
From D8 – Teplice, Berlin, Dresden:
Head towards the city center ("Centrum") through the street "V Holešovickách"until you reach the river "Vltava". Cross the bridge "Barikádníkù". On the other side turn right towards "Holešovice"railway station. Turn left, pass the sport complex on your right and then turn right towards the street "Veletržní". Follow the street until it becomes the street "Milady Horákové". Drive on and then turn right to the street "Svatovítská". There is a circle square ("Vítezné námestí") at its end. Take the exit signposted "the Airport". Diplomat Hotel Prague is situated approximately 100 m past the square on the left-hand side.
If you do not feel like walking, you can take tram number 12 or 22 from Malostranská underground station to Lesser Town Square (the tram goes through Letenska and stops directly on the square).
If you only go by underground from Dejvická to Malostranská it is enoutgh to buy a short trip ticket for CZK 18,-, if you change to the tram a full fare ticket for CZK 26,- is necessary. 24 hour passes cost CZK 100,- for reasons only bureaucrats understand are 72 hours passes more expensive than 3 24 hour passes (CZK 330,- versus CZK 300,-), so nobodybuys them.
