Live- and Dead-time Analysis

We have performed investigations of live- and dead-time for the Amanda detector using data from 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and 2006.

For years 1997-1998 only smaller sub-samples have been investigated but "ALL" 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 data have been processed. Since the 2004 data we are using the nano-DSTs, and is thereby up-to-date already during data-taking. Note, however, that although quite complete there are files missing from the nano-DST directories in Madison! It would be valuable to fix this by getting hold of this files (but how?) in order to get the dead- and live-time as correctly determined as possible!

New 07/2003: GPS clock investigation.
New 12/2003: Full 2002 sample analysis preliminary released
New 06/2004: Bad run deselection introduced for 2002 sample
New 06/2004: Adding some runs which appeared very late!
New 07/2004: 2004 data ready online from nano-DST!
New 07/2004: Full 2003 data set processed
New 12/2004: Full 1999 data set processed
New 01/2005: All 2004 data processed from nano-DST
New 01/2005: Started 2005 processing from nano-DST
New 01/2005: Raw data rate investigation
New 02/2005: VLF effects and high data rates
New 10/2005: VLF effects seen during runs 9469-9476 (pdf, gzipped PostScript)
New 10/2005: Raw rates per minute for 2005 data (pdf, gzipped PostScript)
New 01/2006: Completing analysis for the 2005 data and starting to treat 2006-data.
As for 2005 data we have plots of raw data rates per minute (pdf, gzipped PostScript) for 2006 data. Note e.g. huge effects in rates during IceCube drilling and calibration at the start of the year.
New 02/2006: Missing sequences for runs 9319 to 9562 for 2005 data patched up. Still some missing files outside this run range.
New 04/2006: Introducing bad file list for 2004 using information from Markus Ackermann.
New 04/2006: Missing data from 2005 (and some from beginning of 2006) patched up using data brought from the South Pole by Markus Ackermann.
New 01/2007: Details on VLF-breaks in 2003 and 2004 data added.
New 03/2007: Patchup of 2004 data from Zeuthen store (seems to add about 3 days of livetime!).
New 03/2007: For 2000-2004 we now implicitly mark runs outside the default analysis range as bad runs (those are not in the bad file lists). We hope this may avoid some confusion.
New 09/2007: Added run 7989 for 2004 which somehow have turned up later than the rest (found by Johan Lundberg).
New 06/2009: Updated 2006 data with some missing files found in Madison by Alfio Rizzo (see details).
