Modelling for Solar-cell applications Modelling for Solar-cell applications
In experiments on model systems of dye-sensitized nano-crystaline solar-cells, in combination with theoretical simulations, the electron-injection was shown to be faster than femto-seconds.
In the theorical calculations, the physics in the core-level excitations in the model experimental and the optical processes in the working solar-cell can be related.
The electronic structures of dye-molecules can be studied with x-ray spectroscopies in the complex surroundings of the real solar-cell materials, or idealized model systems, to understand the excited-state and electron-transfer processes.
