Current research

I am currently building up data acqusition system for simultaneous, high-speed, low-noise sampling. This system will be used for ultra-high resolution calorimetry, as well as for resistive and other transport measurements (Hall, Seebeck, IV, etc.). Components include a PXI system with 24-bit ADC boards, DACs, RIO / FPGA, and more, home-built pre-amplifiers and low-noise transformer amplifiers.

In parallel, I am developing a general LabVIEW program for data acqusistion and analysis. The program supports multithreading, about 30 GPIB instruments, waveform sampling, generation, and more.

Ongoing projects include wrapping up a Hall micro-probe study of a mesoscopic Pb crystal and the continued development of a differential nanocalorimeter device based on Si3N4 membranes.
