AIRES simulations

you will find air showers generated with AIRES.

Every file with .f2k extension contains the result of 100000 showers, iron or proton primary, with zenith angles between 0 and 90 degrees and azimuthal angles between 0 and 360 degrees. Each "bundle" is randomly moved within a square of 2000 x 2000 m. This is not done by AIRES, but by a program written by Ariel and modified by Julio. This program also converts the AIRES output to F2000, wich is not supported by the program. For more information, ask Ariel or Julio.

WIMP signal

These files are generated for hard and soft spectra from 50 to 5000 GeV. In each raw file, there are 500000 events and they are spread in volumes that depend on the neutralino mass. The size of the volume is given in the header in each F2000 file. The events are created with the program WimpSimp and converted to f2000 by wf2f2000. Both programs are written by Joakim. The events are located in 
/group/amanda
with the following substructure.

  ama              - passed through amasim2
  ama-flt          - passed through filter97
  ama-reco-filt    - filtered and reconstructed
  ama-reco-unfilt  - unfiltered, but reconstructed
